What this means for your pet

AHPR registration provides assurance that a practitioner has met externally verified training standards, carries appropriate insurance, and is committed to ongoing professional development. The alignment with PSA/RCVS regulatory models adds credibility.

About this accreditation

AHPR is a voluntary multi-professional register for animal health practitioners covering chiropractic, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and sports therapy/massage. Policies are aligned with RCVS and Professional Standards Authority (PSA) models of regulation.

Who can hold this accreditation

Must have achieved an industry-recognised standard of training through externally accredited courses. Must comply with CPD requirements and hold professional indemnity insurance. Practice must be based on evidence-based therapies and clinical reasoning.

Referral requirement

Yes — services provided under veterinary referral as required by the Veterinary Surgeons (Exemptions) Order 2015.
